The shortest wavelength X-ray laser
The Japan Researchers have created the only 0.12 nanometer wavelength X-ray laser successfully and refreshed world record of the shortest wavelength X-ray laser.
According to news bulletin announcement of Japan institute, researchers have launched out only 0.12 nm wavelength X-ray laser by X-ray free electronic laser device and it broke out the world record of 0.15 nanometer shortest wavelength in April 2009.
The reports said that researchers made a thorough adjustments for X-ray free electronic laser device monitor and electro-magnet in accordance with the best design. From device operation starting in the end of February, it took three month to launch out the most short wavelength X-ray laser in the world. But America spent several months.
X-ray laser wavelength is less than 1 nanometer. X-ray laser application prospect are promising from basic research to the vast field of application development, such as structure analysis of membrane protein and nanometer field.
