VLADIVOSTOK -- An oil-carrying train was derailed in Russia's Far East on Tuesday morning, with thirteen tank-cars catching fire, local media reported.
The Port Nakhodka-bound train from Skovorodino consisted of 68 tank-cars, 17 of which ran off the track in the Amur region.
The crew disconnected the burning tank-cars from the train which was immediately driven away to a safe distance, said the RIA Novosti news agency.
Two railway tracks were destroyed as a result of the incident. Oil spilt over an area of up to 600 square meters.
At about noon the fire was localized, with only five tank-cars still burning.
